The Great Communicator and Lawyer from Illinois has once
again given us a “teachable moment” as he shredded one of the greatest
communications from any lawyer from Illinois.
Because one has to be a deliberate idiot to ignore God
when one works as president of the United States of America. The people note
your ignorance in that instance and so does God.
As part of documentary filmmaker Ken Burns’ effort to
commemorate Lincoln’s deliverance of the Gettysburg Address, Burns thoughtfully
included the current president of the United States. In this effort Obama read
the address on camera, says the White House, from a copy provided by Burns.
As widely reported, Obama choose to leave out the words
“under God” in his recitation of the speech.
The White House has denied that the omission was
intentional.
"He read the version of the address that Ken Burns
provided," said White House Press Jester Jay Carney.
Yet like all things Obama, the facts and the reality
conflict.
While he may have been provided a copy of the address
that omitted the words “under God,” the omission presents us with the same
conundrum that we always find with this president.
By his misstep, denials and evasions we are once again
forced to ask ourselves: Is this dude a liar or is he really as stupid as he seems?
I’m inclined to believe that he’s both stupid and a
liar.
But I’m also beginning to believe that he’s more than
just stupid and more than just a liar; that in fact, he’s the worst of all
possible things: a stupid liar.
And there’s nothing more of a time-waster than a stupid
liar.
I know, you know, AND they know that he’s lying. But yet
the whole machinery of media, government and the Libocracy will turn its
attention to propping up the stupid lie, when it would be better served trying
to fix the much more important lies they promised to fix.
Because America just doesn’t have the time now to waste
on more stupidity from the only president who thinks he’s starring on reality
TV.
The economic growth that we don’t have today, we can
NEVER add back.
Ever.
Adding one percent per annum to GDP over the last four
years would add a trillion dollars to economic growth over the next ten years
if historical growth rates for GDP reemerge. Every day that politicians ignore
this, we harm our economy. This has real money consequences for our government,
taxes, investment, and deficit... but mostly it holds consequences for
taxpayers.
Here are the facts: Obama is a professed fan of Lincoln.
Obama spent a little bit of time in Lincoln’s beloved
city Springfield, a city that Lincoln was a deliberate founder of and advocate
for as capital of Illinois.
Obama, like Lincoln, was a legislator in Springfield.
Obama himself encourages people to compare him to Lincoln:
“The issue here is not going to be a list of
accomplishments,” Obama told NBC’s David Gregory as reported by the Blaze. “I
would put our legislative and foreign policy accomplishments in our first two
years against any president, with the possible exceptions of Johnson, FDR, and Lincoln.”
As Carl Cannon explained on Real Clear Politics: “Not to
put too fine a point on it, but the record shows that Barack Obama consciously
emulates Lincoln, quotes Lincoln, misquotes Lincoln, and most definitely
compares himself to Lincoln -- and that he did so even before he used Lincoln’s
bible to take the oath of office as the 44th president of the United States.”
Cannon then goes on to cite half a dozen examples. They
are worth reading.
The point being that Obama expects us to sit here and
take him at his word that he only just “read the version of the address that
Ken Burns provided” him. That would mean either that he thinks we’re stupid and
that we’ll accept the omission of "under God" as accidental or he’s
stupid because the omission was accidental.
Because, the “under God” version of the speech is the
only one that was actually read at Gettysburg.
Any casual fan of Lincoln knows this. Obama should know
this since he seeks the Lincoln comparisons. If Obama really wants to be
compared to Lincoln, then, in the Gettysburg Address test at least, he has
failed.
I think he knows it.
That knowledge makes him both stupid and a liar.
That he thinks that WE don’t know it makes him a stupid liar.
And America has no time for that.
Under God.
