When
Adam Graham raped his victim in 2016 and 2019, he had an unambiguously male
identity. He had an ex-wife and a Mike Tyson–style facial tattoo. But, after
being tried for rape, Adam Graham began identifying as a woman. He changed his
name to Isla Bryson.
Mr.
Graham, now “Ms. Bryson,” met his victims online. The Daily Mail reports
how “the first victim recalled repeatedly stating ‘no’ as her ‘muscular’
attacker raped her when the then man got into bed beside her in 2016.”
Meanwhile, “the second woman was raped at a flat when they were planning to
watch the film Mean Girls in 2019.” Now, the Mail reports,
“Bryson appears to be heading to an all-female jail.”
This is
Bryson now:
Rapists’
requesting access to more potential victims is exactly the sort of scenario
that critics of Scotland’s gender reforms have warned about. And yet they were
ignored, and a commonsense proposed amendment to prevent sex offenders from
changing their gender was rejected.
This case is yet another reminder that the U.K. government was right to intervene.
