With Interviews Like This, It’s Amazing Biden Ever Takes Questions

It is easy to see why Joe Biden doesn’t do many sit-down interviews.

In the president’s recent interview with Lester Holt of NBC News, Biden got a bit testy and called Holt a “wise guy” for bringing up Biden’s assertion in July that inflation would be temporary. How dare Holt ask Biden about his previous assurances to the public!

At least Biden didn’t call Holt a “stupid son of a bitch” like he did with Peter Doocy. Biden’s interactions with the press seem to be getting more hostile, more frequently: “What a stupid question!” “If you don’t understand that, you’re in the wrong business!” “That is an interesting reading of English! You — I assume you got into journalism because you liked to write!” and so on.

Then Biden insisted that the U.S. Army’s report, contending that the U.S. was not prepared to withdraw from Afghanistan, is not true, and that he rejects the report’s conclusions.

Finally, Biden made a small but somewhat odd error, seeming to believe that only children ages 7 and up could get vaccinated:

“When I got in office, only 46 percent of schools were opened. Now 98 percent of them are open, and they’re wearing masks,” Biden said. “What’s happening is every day that goes by, children are more protected. We’re now on the verge of being able to have shots for children under the age of 7 and young children, and so the more protection they have, probably you’re going to see less and less requirement to have the mask.”

Currently, the Pfizer vaccine is approved for children age 5 and up. How well does Biden remember what he’s told in briefings?

But hey, at least Biden didn’t bark, “that was four or five days ago!” this time.
