I’m struggling to see why, when asked to define a woman,
Ketanji Brown Jackson didn’t just say, “well, I am one.” I
understand that Jackson knows that the party that nominated her has gone
utterly insane in this area. But, as she must know, that party is also happily
lionizing her for her sex. It is true that Jackson is not a “biologist,” but
neither is Joe Biden, and yet, having announced that he wanted a female Supreme
Court nominee, he seemed to be able to identify one without too much trouble.
Once again, the Democrats are having it both ways on this
silliest of all obsessions. One can only suspect that the party will suddenly
remember what a woman is if, in a few months, the Court overturns Roe.
