A response for Awais

Awais left a some comments on the two most recent posts. It doesn't look like there's any contact info on his blog or profile and uberkoen@gmail.com doesn't work so I'm forced to do this publicly.

For anyone who wants to comments on these articles: you're more than welcome to, but please keep point #3 in mind.

Having said that...

Awais,

A couple of things from your comments:

1. "Umm..Pakistan has been supporting the War on Terror ever since it started."

Taliban and Al Qaeda forces often slip into Pakistan because the Pakistani government won't allow US forces to pursue them. Not to belittle Pakistan's support, because they have been a valuable ally, but the terrorists have safe haven there. Just sayin'.

Second point about this comment: how does the average Muslim citizen in Pakistan feel about their government's support for the War on Terror? For or against?

2. "Blaming Islam or the Prophet for the acts of these terrorists would be like blaming Christianity for the priests that molested the little kids or blaming it for the killing of innocent people during the Crusades or for the actions of the BTK killer, who was the head a Church."

I DO blame Christianity for the Crusades. The other two are poor examples. I doubt the molesting priests raped those children for the glory of God or the BTK killer killed for the glory of God. The Muslim terrorists, however, do their killing in the name of Allah. There's a big difference. Also, most Christians condemn the acts of the offending priests, the BTK killer and people like Fred Phelps. When Muslim terrorists are sawing people's heads off with rusty machetes, stabbing notes into Dutch filmmakers' chests, flying planes into skyscrapers, bombing subways and trying to plants more bombs in Western cities, all we hear from those in the Muslim community are protests about how peaceful Islam is. Never condemnation.

Something else to clear up: I don't advocate ANY religion. Of all the articles you'll find on my site, you'd be hard pressed to find an article where the main thrust/topic was the greatness of Christianity. There may be comparisons between religions but that's usually a side dish, not the main course. I am an atheist. There aren't many of us in the Conservative camp but there are a handful. For that reason, you won't find many articles cheer leading for Christianity.

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly:

3. I DON'T WRITE THESE ARTICLES. I compile them and then re-post them. 99% of them still have the byline right underneath the piece's title. I obviously agree with what the articles say, but if you want to criticize them, I'm not the source.

Cheers,
C.A.A.
